Silly on Wednesday Morning

What a beautiful morning here-- the sun's bright and it's not too warm (yet). The kids are in a great mood and I'm in a great mood (despite lack of sleep, since Eva had been sick for the last couple of days). Eva is wearing a dress I made for her last week. I used this same fabric for a blanket I made for cousin Mia and I've been saving the last bit of this fabric for something special. Just love this dress :)

Dresses

I have been able to get some sewing done these past few days. I made these two dresses for Eva, I also made her a skirt, a dress for Baby Eliana, and I appliqued some onesies for Baby Eliana.

What I love most about these dresses is that they're so easy to get on and off Eva. It's also fun to use unexpected fabrics for baby clothes!

Monday at the Park

We met up with Beth and Andre at the park on Monday. The kids played at the playground and then the sprinkler park started at 11. Neither Beth or I remembered to bring swimsuits, but we couldn't deny the kids' requests to go in the water. Luckily I had a dry change of clothing. They had loads of fun!

(Beth is the one in the red shirt and Andre is wearing the diaper.)

Afternoon in the Backyard

The weather right now is perfect. Truly, it couldn't be better. The kids often spend part of the morning and part of the late afternoon outdoors. Right now Eva is playing outside while Andrew is still napping. She took a little ride on the pony, the climbed up and slid down the slide, rode in the convertible. What a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Jane Austen Book Club

Very, very excited! A few of my girlfriends and I have formed a Jane Austen bookclub. We decided to read three of the books, which we did for the first three months this year, and now we've decided to continue to read all six of Austen's books. I'm so happy. First of all, I have a passionate love of reading. My mother used to often get angry at me for reading so much (while slacking off on other things). I've always wanted to read all of Austen's books and it makes the experience so much richer to share with friends. Yip, yippee. In case you're interested on what books I will read or have read this year, there's a list over to the left. If you have any good recommendations, I would love to hear them.

What a Good Day!

Seriously, the day has been great because I've won not one, but two giveaways! On one of my current favorite blogs, babyccino , I won a set of iron-ons from tapete, a company in Amsterdam. yeah! I also love the Downtown Boutique blog and I won a $20 gc from bella symphony - which is a online store with beautiful baby things! I love their tutus. Anyways, loads of fun today :)

Cute Little Guy

I made this cute little guy for my cute little guy. It's taken me forever to finish this! I started it about 2 months ago, but with my recent health issues, I just haven't had the time or energy to complete it. Well, both kids napped at the same time today - whoa, that never happens! So, I took advantage of the rare opportunity. So I was very excited for Andrew to wake up and show him the bunny. When I showed him, he said, "I don't want this one, I want a different. I think I want a green one." I was crushed. I think he noticed, because 2 minutes later he came over and said, "Mom, I like it now." He proceeded to tell me this several times over the course of the afternoon. What a sweetie-- how does a barely 3 year old read disappointment in someone and then try to fix it? I'm truly amazed at his compassion and concern for others. Anyways, I like the bunny, even if Andrew isn't all that impressed.

Remember this skirt?

I made this skirt several months ago, but my baby girl can finally fit into it. Love the way it looks on her :)

Blackberry Jam

My child makes the best blackberry jam! She knows how to turn a beautiful bowl of blackberries into a mushy jammy mess.

Walk to the Park

It was such a beautiful Arizona morning, that I decided to walk the kids to the park. Wow, the sun was shining through the leaves of the trees, the birds were chirping, the dew on the grass was sparkling...heavenly. The children even behaved to and from the park. While we were there, we played on the swings, climbed, slid down all the slides, played with the balls, ate some snacks, and acted silly. My two little ones sometimes don't seem so little. Eva was quite independent and wanted to go down the slides by herself. Big brother Andrew coaxed her into allowing him to slide with her. My precious babies!
